Derek Mayo

This week I'm joined by long time friend Kareem Harvey and local Houston artist Derek, who's a cartoonist, singer/songwriter, producer, Youtuber, paper puppeteer, and dancer does everything mentioned while having cancer! (If I forgot something Derek, please forgive me!) In this episode, we have a hilarious, nerdy, motivating, and very moving conversation between three black men of various backgrounds and beliefs talking about perspective, black masculinity, solidarity, empathy, and creation.

Ash Soto

This week I'm joined by the one and only Ash Soto and she describes herself as The Girl With the World Painted on Her Body. In this truly inspiring conversation, Ash talks with me about growing up with Vitiligo and her creative way to embrace the disease. Follow her on Instagram. It's honestly the best one out there!

This week I'm joined by a former minister, secular humanist, author, and podcaster, Josh Richards. Josh and I talked about his journey coming out of religion, Houston Oasis, uploading your brain into a computer, and genuinely connecting with people as an atheist. This is something the movement needs to hear. Josh also shares a personal story that you will only hear on The (Secular) Barbershop Podcast!
